Wirecard PH trustee claims "frame-up", BSP asks banks to stop hiring fraudsters (Wednesday, June 24)
Happy DAY_OF_THE_WEEK, Barkada --
The PSE closed down 50 points to 6298 ▼0.78%.
Thanks to Roi for the email and the compliments! Roi was asking for more info on the Atlus Property Ventures "IPO by way of introduction", and I know I said that I'd write more about that yesterday, but the truth is that I just don't understand it well enough yet to write about it. I've never even looked at one of these before in my life, and I don't know yet what I'm looking at to be honest. I don't want to just parrot some other writer's impressions, so I'm waiting until I know more about what I'm talking about before I comment. Hopefully soon!
1. ABS-CBN [ABS 15.10 ▲0.67%] - Supreme Court junked Calida’s quo warranto petition against ABS-CBN… the Solicitor General’s petition sought to revoke ABS’s franchise on the grounds that it had broken the law when it issued PDRs to foreigners, violated its franchise by offering pay-per-view channels, and violated the constitution by allowing Gabby Lopez (alleged by Calida to not be a naturally-born Filipino) to own a media company. The Supreme Court junked the petition for being moot, since ABS’s franchise had already expired last month and the company was no longer broadcasting. MB:“Moot” is just a fancy legal word that means further proceedings can’t have an effect. In this case, the franchise was already dead/expired, so the SolGen’s petition to revoke the franchise was useless: the Supreme Court couldn’t order the franchise to “be expired harder”. This is only a technical legal result. The Supreme Court did give any judgement on the issues raised by Calida in his petition, it only marked the petition as “too late” and threw it in the trash. Hello. Thank you
Tips for applying for Citi PremierMiles Credit Card
I've applied twice first online and then at their booth during a convention and have been rejected twice. I have a BPI Amore Credit Card with 91k credit limit. I'm thinking the reason why I get denied is I pay my credit card bill in full monthly ever since and haven't availed an installment plan in the past 2 years. Don't banks prefer people who incur financial charges since it means more money for the bank? My biggest credit card purchases are travel related flights, hotels, klook, etc. which is why I've had my eyes set on this credit card since I can earn 1 mile per 30 pesos and avail of the free airport lounge. I also know this has a bigger annual fee but I'm not really concerned with that since I'm pretty sure I can maximize usage of this card. Anybody here who has one? Care to share your experience applying for this card?

From their FAQ:
If I invest in Unit “Class P” and the general consensus is stronger or weaker USD against major currencies, how will this affect me as an investor? As a Unit “Class P” investor, should the US Dollar strengthen against the Philippine Peso, you stand to benefit on stronger US Dollar due to unrealized foreign exchange gains. On the other hand, should the US Dollar weaken against the Philippine Peso, you may experience additional volatility due to unrealized foreign exchange losses. Note, however, that the NAVPU of the unit classes also reflects the daily marking-to-market of the underlying investments of the target fund. As such, we emphasize that clients are not encouraged to subscribe into the BPI Invest US Equity Index Feeder Fund Unit “Class P” to hedge foreign exchange risk. Unit “Class P” was designed primarily to provide convenient access to global outlets for investors with Philippine Peso.
--- So ultimately, it just provides the convenience that you don't have to buy USD to invest. The minimum transaction amount is also lower. The exchange risk is there whether you invest in USD or PHP... if you eventually will spend the investment proceeds in PHP. If one can buy and sell USD at better than bank rates, it may be better to invest in USD fund since BPI probably earns a little bit more on the forex spread. I guess BPI just has to be clearer when stating the performance of the USD class and the PHP class, since the latter also effectively includes the exchange rate performance of USD vs PHP.
Hi. I have an incoming money worth 300k coming from my car that I just sold. I wanted to make the most out of that money because it's not like everyday we encounter this kind of amount, i mean at least for me (we're not a financially wealthy family). A friend who happen to read a financial book shared to me 2 yrs ago that to be able to reach finacial stability, you must have at least 7 Streams Of Income (SOI id like to abbreviate it to make my text shorter hehe). for background purposes and for your suggestions to be more of help I'd have to let you know that currently: I am employed (SOI 1), have 3 policies - insurance/investment from bpi-philam (SOI 2), an emergency fund - I placed it in a passbook (SOI 3), a property (SOI 4) a condo unit - but still a bare unit - that I plan to let out and a 5k investment on ETH cryptocurrency (SOI 5(??)) which i dont really expect to give me an influx of money. So i havent really maximized my SOI 2 and SOI 4 because it's not income generating yet. As you can observe, technically, I only have SOI 1 as a source of incoming money. all the others are just stagnant money and generally outflow of money. What other areas of financial sphere should i explore? I tried reselling but it's time consuming and the profit is really low. I tried inquiring on franchises but my friends discourage me. I wanted to try FOREX or trading so bad but I don't know if its the same with cryptocurrency and it scares me coz i can't afford to lose more money. I want to join KAPA but others say it's a scam. I dont plan to use all 300k for my 6th source of income because I have to fix the condo first for it to be income generating.. HELPPPPPP
let's share our credit card arsenal and how we use them. include caveats and tips.

Guys! Any advice which credit card to use for Paypal? My main card is rcbc pero madugo yung forex charges. I have BPI and BDO pa na never kong ginamit. Salamat!
Need to load up your Steam account? Maybe I can help. :)
Hi, I'm not sure if selling or trading in this subreddit is allowed, but since I saw some people asking on how to load up their steam accounts, I figured I can help. I used to be a very active Team Fortress 2 unusual trader, and though I am not as active now, I still have some TF2 keys for sale. How will this help you? Each key can be sold in the market for $2.40 - $2.49 each -Steam Market-, which, after taxes, might give you around $2.20 in proceeds which you can use to purchase games in Steam. So yeah, in short, I am selling TF2 keys, (or Dota 2 keys or CSGO keys) for 80 php each. Right now, I have around 50 keys up for sale. Payment options will most likely be through bank transfer or deposit. I have a BPI and BDO account, details will be sent via PM if interested. Here are my steam profile and my tf2 bp: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197992867223http://backpack.tf/profiles/76561197992867223 I will appreciate good rep on your part, but if you are new, an old reddit account with good history might be enough. I might also limit trade transactions to a few keys first to test rep and avoid big losses. That's it I suppose. As I said, I just got this idea when I saw people having a hard time loading up their steam accounts. And I suppose 80 php = $2.20 is a better deal than topping it up via credit card or paypal due to to forex rates. If this kind of post is not allowed, (though I already checked the subreddit's rule in the sidebar, and it states nothing about this) then please feel free to remove it. Thanks! and Mabuhay PH gamers!
